Frequently Asked Questions

Does the gamepad now also support SIXAXIS® motion control on the PS3® like the Sony® gamepad?
No. This gamepad was designed for optimal game control using analog sticks which is why it doesn’t support SIXAXIS® motion control. If necessary, please deactivate this function in the game’s options menu.
How do I change the gamepad’s wireless channel?
The gamepad’s wireless channel is preset and can’t be changed. Every gamepad is paired with the accompanying receiver.
The receiver is being detected after being connected it to the PC, but the gamepad doesn’t connect. All the LEDs light up on the gamepad, but there’s no response.
Press the Reset button on the base of the gamepad (you’ll need a blunt pointed object such as a paperclip to do that). Following that, the gamepad should connect automatically to the receiver.
I’ve installed the gamepad on my Windows PC and it is being detected, but buttons 1 to 4 (triangle, circle, X and square) do nothing.
Please unplug the USB receiver and uninstall both the SPEEDLINK driver and the Windows standard driver (HID gamepad driver). Once you’ve done that, restart your computer and install the latest driver from the SPEEDLINK website making sure you select the correct driver version for your gamepad model. Now plug the USB receiver back in.
I’ve installed the gamepad on my Windows PC and it is being detected and connected, but it doesn’t work.
Make sure you’ve installed the correct driver version for your gamepad model. Open the gamepad’s driver menu by going to the Game Controllers option in the Control Panel, click Properties, then click the Effect Page tab. You’ll then be able to use the gamepad as normal.
The gamepad doesn’t connect to the receiver.
First, fully charge the gamepad and try to establish a connection as described in the instructions. If a connection still can’t be established despite following this step, remove the wireless receiver from the USB port. Now press the Home button on the gamepad, wait five seconds and press it again. The LEDs should now start to flash rapidly. Now plug the receiver back into the USB port – the connection should then be established.
The gamepad’s LEDs do not indicate the correct controller number when being used on the PS3®.
The gamepad’s LEDs do not indicate the correct controller number with certain PS3® firmware versions (3.5 or later); however, the PS3® Home Menu still allows you to see what controller number is currently assigned by pressing the HOME button. This does not affect the functionality of the STRIKE FX gamepad; indeed, it’s also possible to use multiple gamepads at the same time with no problem at all.
