My gamepad, racing wheel or joystick doesn’t work.
Please check if the input device is working correctly in the game controller menu in Windows®. To do so, open the Control Panel and navigate to ‘Game Controllers’ (Windows® XP/Vista) or ‘Devices and Printers’ (other Windows® versions). The device you need to test should be listed here. Right-click the device and select ‘Game Controller Settings’. You can access the particular input device’s properties by double-clicking the device name in the list of installed game controllers. Test the device by pressing its buttons or moving it – these actions should be displayed in parallel in the test area.
Why can’t I operate the trigger buttons (R2 and L2) at the same time?
These two buttons’ signals are on the same axis. As such, they cancel each other out when both buttons are pressed at the same time. This gives you optimal control in many games. Alternatively, select the button assignment in the game so that both trigger buttons don’t need to be pressed at the same time.
With some games, the gamepad either doesn’t work correctly or not at all – why?
As the gamepad supports the operating modes DirectInput und XInput, you must determine which of these two interfaces the game is compatible with before playing it. As such, set the gamepad, as described in the QIG, to the correct mode before starting the game. Please consult the manual that accompanied the game, ask the publisher or try both modes to establish which mode works the best for a particular game.
Please note: Full gamepad support is not offered by every game. That said, you can often control these games using additional free-of-charge software which you can download from the internet.
How can I use this joystick/gamepad with games that only support mice or keyboards as input devices?
You can only do this using special software. The relevant programs are available as freeware and easy to find on the internet.
My game controller does not show any reaction.
Most games are set to use the keyboard as default input device. Open Options of your game and choose ″game controller″ as input device. Please refer to the game′s manual for further information.
